The Situation:
Washington D.C. based Alterna Recruiting Solutions provides recruiting and hiring services to large retail organizations nationwide. The company came to us for help in designing, developing, building and marketing a subscription-based online research service to help retail companies quickly locate job candidates for hire.
Our Research:
In traditional recruiting, staff recruiters at retail companies spend hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars just to find a few questionable candidates. During that time, key corporate and field retail positions go unfilled costing retailers lost productivity and profits. We concluded the final product deployment needed to reduce the time and money related to traditional recruiting in order to grab retailers' attention and make them willing to buy the online product.
Our Solution:
A database-driven online subscription service called AlternaLink. Built using feedback from leading retail recruiters, AlternalLink features continual talent updates for real-time information on potential candidates. Within seconds, users can learn about qualified job candidates including where they currently work, past retail history, salary history, updated contact information and more.
Marketing:
To launch AlternaLink, we marketed the service through HTML-based mailers targeted to key recruiters and executives at Fortune 500 retailers.
Our Results:
Within two days, the company received numerous calls from Fortune 500 companies including Target, Wal-Mart and The Limited Brands. Such response that lead to the first customer purchase of the enterprise-level version of AlternaLink within weeks. Due to non-disclosure agreements, we are not authorized to reveal additional clients who have subscribed. However, AlternaLink has been so successful, we are working with them to upgrade the product with even more features and produce versions targeted to other industries.
